How to Display and Type Japanese Character on Your Computer

To display Japanese Characters and typing Japanese, you don’t need install full Japanese system in your computer. I am using English Version Microsoft, and can read and type Japanese. It is very simple to read on Internet with most of browser.  So if you are not aware of this and you are experienced some weird characters like “能”…. just try this simple steps to read Japanese Character.

* Display Japanese Characters

For Firefox – Go to “View” -> “Character Encoding” -> Select “Auto=Detect”, choose “Japanese”.  Now, you can read Japanese Characters on your computer.

For Internet Explorer – Go to “View” -> “Encoding” -> Choose “Japanese (Auto Select)”.

* Typing Japanese Characters

You need download Microsoft Global IME (downloadable at http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/imejpn.aspx) or install from your Windows cd-rom.  With this install, you can type most of asian characters includs Japanese with Microsoft Documents, e-mail messages and Skype.  With this program, I myself Japanese, really don’t need to have Japanese version computer system.
